COVID-19 Updates

>> UPDATED: Saturday, March 21, 9:00 PM<<

As you are aware, concerns regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) have escalated in the last 48 hours.  On Monday, March 16, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards issued an Executive Order that affects what we do as a church. Because the vast majority of the activities we have at Broadmoor Baptist combine to include more than 50 people in our building at a time, we must effectively close our doors to the public.  However, t
hat does not mean we will stop spreading the message of truth, hope, grace, and love beyond our doors!

This webpage is designed to provide the most up to date information we have available regarding the life and ministry of Broadmoor Baptist in Shreveport, LA.

We want to let you know that the health and safety of our members, guests, and staff is our priority. We have a team in place who are closely monitoring the situation, and we will adhere to any recommendations made by the CDC and local health officials regarding public gatherings. This is a dynamic situation that is changing every day. As information develops, we will update this page with answers to commonly-asked questions. Below are some questions we can address at this time.

Is Broadmoor gathering for services this Sunday?

UPDATED: Saturday, March 21, 9:00 PM

We will not be gathering at 4110 Youree Drive for Worship on Sunday.  However, we will create an informal program in our Church Parlor with both our worship teams leading music and Pastor Chuck's sermon for the purpose of streaming live here on our website and on our Facebook Page (and replay it at 11:00 AM). We have communicated to our congregation that beginning Sunday, we will not have regular Worship Services in the building.

For those who are not able to access our digital pathways, we have set up a regular phone in option.  Simply dial 318-703-2511 to listen to the service.  If you know of someone who would rather use this pathway, please help us by spreading the word.

Although our Worship Services can usually be watched on local TV stations at 11:00 AM each week, we will, unfortunately, be airing previously recorded services on TV until at least April 26.

What about B Groups and D Groups?
Will they meet?

UPDATED: Saturday, March 21, 9:00 PM

Our building will not be open for meetings.  Because of the CDC's recommendation for groups no larger than 10 to meet, we are recommending that B-Groups NOT meet together elsewhere. We are recommending B-Group Leaders use the video conferencing app ZOOM to continue to stay connected with their groups.

All of our D-Groups are made up of 5 people.  For those groups that do decide to meet, we encourage everyone to follow the CDC's guidelines regarding social distancing and person preventive actions.  Please note though, MOOR Coffee is only allowing take out orders now. The seating areas are closed in MOOR Coffee.

What about scheduled mission trips and other church group travel?

NEW: Tuesday, March 17, 6:00 AM

Our Missions staff is continually consulting various sources of information including the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board, as well as our ministry partners in other countries. We are also listening closely to the State Department, and organizations like the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization. Based upon this information, we are making determinations concerning any needs to adjust, postpone, or cancel trips. At the same time, we are encouraging individuals involved in trips to prayerfully consider any decision to travel through consultation with medical professionals, as appropriate. The same consideration is being given with all other Broadmoor Baptist trips. For ministry specific trips, participants will be contacted directly regarding changes.
