Welcome

Welcome to the Apologetics Program of Broadmoor Baptist Church.  We hope you find everything here you need to understand our program and engage our world with the truth of Christianity.  If you are not a Christian, we hope you would take the opportunity to investigate the claims of the Christian faith in order to make an educated decision on it’s validity and reasonableness.  We want to make this reference relevant to your individual growth and welcome your comments and suggestions.  On this site you will find information about our programs, resources to help answer your questions, and links to other sites that will be beneficial to you.  The benchmark of our program is the 16-week “Basics for Defending Your Faith” class that is offered every Spring and Fall.  I encourage you to consider signing up for this opportunity to learn about the basic arguments that show our truth is properly placed in Jesus Christ.  Enjoy your time on our site, and please contact us with any questions or needs you might have.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Apologetics Program at Broadmoor Baptist Church is to have a impact on the body of Christ by developing sound arguments for the Christian Worldview as well as help individual Christians become more confident, sensitive and effective in their individual and corporate evangelism.  Our aim is to train people to be active and effective in reaching their spheres of influence in a practical, yet intellectually sufficient way.

What we offer

The foundational program for our program is the 16-week basic apologetics course.  The name of this course is “Apologetics 101”.  This course is designed for an introduction into all the basic aspect of apologetics including:  The Need for Apologetics, Evidences for the Existence of God, Validation of Scripture, Miracles and the Supernatural, and, The evidence for the Resurrection.  This course is offered usually in the Spring and Fall of the year and is encouraged for all who desire to engage in the apologetics enterprise.

The second level offerings (200 level courses) take the arguments from the Apologetics 101 course and go into deeper detail in order for participants to gain a significant level of understanding of these issues.  These courses include:

  • Comparative Religious Systems (Islam, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Etc.)
  • Intelligent Design and the Current Scientific Curriculum in Academia and the Public School System
  • Creation Perspectives
  • The Moral Argument and the Characteristics of God
  • Challenges to the Historical Jesus and the New Testament
  • The Emergent Church Movement and post-modern culture
  • Etc.

Another one of the programs that we engage in the engaging of skeptics and non-Christians in environments that allow us to dialog in an attempt to bring forth the arguments in favor of Christian Theism in a respectful way.  These events include speaking engagements, skeptic forums, and conferences.

The last goal we have is to establish a stable of qualified apologists who are able to be used by the church in general in the evangelistic mission of the church.  We want to be a resource for those who have different gifts so that we can build up and edify the church as a whole.
