Social Media Directional Purpose:
Many have asked, "Why do we follow the people we follow on Twitter?"  The answer is simple. We want as many people as possible to know we are here for them. Chances are the majority of people in our area are not going to search for Broadmoor Baptist Church on Social Media sites. So we use advanced interactive search tools to find people within 10 miles of our zip code who actually use Twitter and Facebook on a regular basis. We then simply "Follow" (in the case on Twitter) or ask to them to accept our Friend Request (in the case on Facebook). Each person has the right and ability to block or ignore us and that's fine. The hope is that they in turn will "follow" us and maybe their friends/followers will see that and want to follow us as well (it's the beauty of networking!)  However, our goal is to not be judgemental or even filter the real life comments of people in our community.  Social Media is a great tool to express yourself. Granted, some people post content that is offensive to others. We get that. Much of the world we live in is offensive. If the things that people post on their Twitter and Facebook accounts bother you (note that we don't control what appears on our feed), we suggest that you not go to our Twitter or Facebook pages.

We believe that God commanded us to go into the world and love people. (see: Matthew 28:19)  We know that there are a lot of people in our neighborhood that simply have no desire to connect with God through a church. We understand that. But we still want to make ourselves available so that when the time comes, people will know that we want to introduce them to a loving, forgiving, God who is passionate about them.
